Senior Research Engineer, Zero Day Research

Since joining in 2014, Jimi has taken on multiple roles within Tenable. He’s been involved in most aspects of the plugin lifecycle at one point or another and has been responsible for the creation and maintenance of several core plugin frameworks. Jimi is an avid rock climber and beer enthusiast. During the warmer months, he can be found in a gym pulling on plastic, but as the weather cools, he frequently disconnects to wander into the woods of the Southeast for some good ol' pebble wrestlin'.

LabKey Server Community Edition Multiple Vulnerabilities

CVE-2019-3911: Reflected XSS

Numerous XSS flaws exists in LabKey Server Community Edition prior to 18.3.0. For all query-* functions in the query viewers with the exception of query-selectAllRows, the “query.sort” parameter in particular does not appear to be validated or sanitized in any way. Since this parameter is reflected in the output to the user and interpreted by the browser, a cross site scripting attack becomes possible. This allows an attacker to run arbitrary code within the context of the user’s browser.

[R3] Multiple Premisys Identicard Vulnerabilities

The below vulnerabilities have been confirmed by Tenable for version 3.1.190 of Premisys Identicard. Latest versions of the software have not been tested due to access limitations, but are presumed to also be vulnerable.

CVE-2019-3906: Hardcoded Backdoor Account (Admin Access to Service)

The service contains hardcoded credentials of "IISAdminUsr" : "Badge1" that allow admin access to the service via the Premisys WCF Service endpoint on port 9003.

[R1] Open Dental Multiple Vulnerabilities

CVE-2018-15717: Weak Password Hashing

Open Dental stores credentials in an insecure manner.

The application stores credentials in the "userod" table with the username in plaintext and the password hash stored as a base64 encoded MD5 hash, which is a known insecure hashing method. Furthermore, no salt is used with the hash.

CVE-2018-15718: User Table Information Disclosure

Open Dental transmits credential information in an insecure manner.

[R1] Multiple Oracle WebLogic Docker Password Disclosures

While researching Oracle WebLogic Docker containers, Tenable discovered a couple of mechanisms to recover the administrative password.

First, the container stores, in cleartext, the administrator's password in a script within the running container. That means anyone with access to the container can uncover the administrative password simply by executing cat create-wls-domain.py and locating the line that starts with admin_pass = . The following screenshot is an example:
