Synopsis
A number of subdomains of teams.microsoft.com were forwarding to invalidlearningpath.com, a domain which at the time was available for purchase.
A malicious attacker could purchase the domain and use this to trick unsuspecting users into visiting a malicious site, leveraging the trust inherent in the teams.microsoft.com domain.
The domain was purchased by a researcher at Tenable when the issue was discovered.
Solution
Microsoft has fixed the issue. The affected subdomains no longer forward to invalidlearningpath.comDisclosure Timeline
